class is dependent on use.
class D, T, G, and H are all efficient classes. class D is typically only suitable for woofer amps, but there is a growing interest on these forms for full-range class D. is this 800x4 or 200x4 that you are aiming for? 200x4 @ 2ohm may be possible for a car amp design.

Todays class D amps is certainly suited for more than bass work.
Some of the better amps (in some persons opinions) are class D/PWM amps. rex, IŽd recommend you talk a look at LC audios Zapulse. These modules seems to be easy to work with and can be bridged for 800W. /Peter |

i use ZAP pulse in my system, and i'm very pleased with the performance indeed!
as PAN said, they're very easy to bridge and run balanced or unbalanced, the only negatives is that the older models of ZAP has a pretty low Z in, about 2kohm, the new modules has about 30kohm Z in, try to get Pulse 2.0 or later, i think that the latest version is 2.2. class D is perfectly good for most needs 8-)

how much do they cost per module?? I'm looking for something that can handle 1kW...or do I have to source elsewhere?? thinking of trying out Class D...

Circuit...?
Are you gonna build the amps yourself or do you wanna use readily made modules? /Peter |

Yes, I would like to build something similar too. Anybody have a schematic for a similar class D amp that puts out around 300W into 8ohm?
Also, does anybody have a working pcb for the lm4651/2 yet? |
