Hello Guys
I have recently downloaded the FilterPro, it really sounds good, and always opens new horizons. Anyway, I read about both the butterworth and bessel, the 1st has the flatest pasband gain, the 2nd does not. The 2nd has the least overshoot and ringing, but the 1st has moderate overshoot. I am still confused with which one to choose in deed, but I was told that bessel is good for audio, the only drawback it has is the passband gain that changes with frequency. I don't know if choosing between linkwitz or multiple feedback worths the chat, but linkwtz is sensitive for components values, when it comes to that, the linkwitz is said to loose its charme. The multiple feedback topology is less sensitive to component values, but more complicated. I wanted to know what does the root resistator is meant to do, it can be changed when using the software, and some changes in the passband flatness occurs, any one has any explainations. Amy one has any opinion, please don't hesitate to participate, I am still waiting for your experiments guys....and of course the results.

What filter to use, Chebyshev, Butterworth, Linkwitz/Riley,
Bessel or some other type optimised in another way really depends on the application of the filter for its suitability. sreten.
