Buffers for IGCs

Hello all,

I would like to make a buffered inverted GC. It seems there are two main types, the valve buffered variety, and Pedja's J-Fet variety. I want to use neither. Eventually I will make a valve buffered design, but for now want to stick to solid state. I don't want to use Pedja's design, cause I can't get those particular J-fets locally, and I don't believe in using any parts I have to source from abroad So:

Are there any other designs out there for a gainclone buffer using easily obtainable FETS, transistors or opamps? Can someone point me in the right direction to a schematic or something?

Or, are there any small signal mosfets/other type of J-fet that can be used in Pedja's circuit? What mods are necessary?

Actually the 2SK170 is a standard part but obviously I don´t know about australian distributors.
There are many other discrete buffer designs out there and you can substitute a lot of other J-Fets.

The attached schematic is as simple as it gets (well, you could use one fet...) and should be adequate.
That schematic comes from the forum as there was quite lot discussion about buffers.
