Resistor values

This is figure 3 from National's LB-44. I have two questions:

the precision 20k resistors: why?

and the 56R resistors: they are for current limiting yes? to determine their minimum value, I am thinking I need to figure in the amp's max output current, the portion of the load that each amp drives, and the voltage that's going to be developed across the load. Correct?

/edit maybe I should attach the image what?

The 20k resistors set IC A3 at unity gain.
The value of the two resistors isn't that critical but the resistors must be matched.

thank you.

It isn't necessary with matching, 5% will do, 1% is better. Even 10% is OK!
