Hi guys!
I have a pair of DIP8 chips that I have to cool down. Any ideas how to do that. I have tried to glue the cooler on the top of the DIP8 but because of heat this is not working. The glue was two component glue. regards daniel |

You should have a look to artic silver epoxy. Simple glue will not offer good thermal transmission. The artic silver epoxy is used to install Heat-Sink on ram chip of overclocked videocard. Try a search on google to find a retainer near you. Francois |

you can take a standard heatsink such as a small to-220 and bolt it down to the board on top of the chip with thermal greece between the chip and sink.

I have used Arctic Silver, the adhesive, and the compound on audio projects with excellent results. It is probably better than the traditional thermal compounds. Info on it is at www.arcticsilver.com
