volume POT...NOT ACCURATE!

hi

just finished my 2nd gainclone, after destroying the first.

i have a problem here, my gainclone's volume pot (10k 8ohms) isnt accurate. even though it's set to the minumum level, the sound is still audible. and i noticed that the sound of my older gainclone is much louder than this one. my first one can fill a large room, my second is not so loud.

whats wrong here?is it in the wiring of the pot?

how exactly did you wire it? picture, drawing?

sorry, not understandable.

One side of pot to GND, (outside RCA) other side to input/ middle of RCA, wiper ( the middle pin of pot) go to amplifiers input.

This might sound silly, but is it logarythmic ?

Maybe the pot has too small value, so the preamp output voltage drops because of that, and the amp sounds more quiet.

Have you tried some other pots ?
