This topic may have been already covered. If it has then please point me there.
If it hasn't then: I built the Marchand dual 3886 board and it sounds great. (I'm using AD825s for the preamp) I read on a Gainclone site that chips with mutes (LM3886 e.g.) are not recommended (?) What are the pros and cons of these two chips?? Bill

Basicly the 3886 is newer more modern(?) and can deliver much more current which I think is an important feature. The mute function doesn't interfere very much (my opinion) and is very useful.
Not knowing so much I'll believe that 3875 and 3886 is more or less the same chip except for a further developed output stage at the 3886. The 3875 is cheaper than 3886 (if you pay for them....)
