Default GC As Driver Stage For High Current Amp?

Hello, I am hoping to make a very high current but simple amp for a subwoofer. We are talking 2 and maybe 1 ohm load. Obviously that's too much current for a chip amp, but what if you used the chip amp to an output stage that had some high current power transistors? I have looked here over 100's of pages and have not seen a suitable circuit. The National data sheets show complicated arrangements and don't give me the level of current I am after. It of course would only need to be 1 channel.

Does anyone have a circ for a high current amp using a GC as the driver stage? Or if not, a circuit for just an output stage that provides high current? 10 amps? 20 amps?

Thanks

I think Circlotron did something like this with a Quad current dumping type circuit a year or so ago, might be worth a search...

If you stick a couple of 1 ohm resistors in the power supply leads they can drive external outputs.

With a suitable supply, 400W at 1 ohm is possible.
