Question Transformers

Hi,

I'm pretty new to building audio amps and I just received a few LM3875T's the other day. I'm going to build the typical schematic found in national's datasheet for the chip.

My question though, is what type (and specs?) of transformers should I use for the power supply? I want to power two LM3875T's with the powersupply if this makes any difference. The schematic i'm planning on using is attached.

Thanks!

Regards,
Matt

You need a transformer that has either two secondaries, 18-25V, or a center tapped secondary, 18-0-18 to 25-0-25V.

It should ideally be at least 300VA for both channels, but some people used smaller for lower volume applications. My recommendation is 400VA as there is a very slight difference in price between 300 and 400.

that would work

also plitron model # (www.pliton.com) : 077014201, 757015201 (and others) will work ..
