To minimize lengths, I had been trying to connect all components to the IC, and then connectors to those components. Your approach is a lot easier.

Greg, your labelled photos are excellent.
I gather that (the case of) the resistor from pins 4-9 appears to be contacting the pins in between doesn’t’ matter?

As far as minimizing lenghts, if you have components connected in paralel and you have to extend the wires to other paralel components, in this specific case (not too high resistances and you need to runthe wires that way anyway), you can place the low current components wherever is more convinient (like I mentioned before, as long as the distances ar not to big). One of the advantages for example of mounting the input RC network on the RCA is that if there is a RF signal it gets filtered at the input of the housing and it wont be let to float around inside the shielded space. So sometimes it's even beneficial to do it that way.

Also you see that I'm using a shielded cable inside the box running along the side wall to minimize the crostalk between in and out.

As far as the FB resistor, it just appears that way. It doesn't contact them at all. It's the angle I had the picture taken that gives the wrong impression. It's 1~2mm away from the pins.

/Greg
