25k pot for Gainclone?

I am following this design by Peter Daniel:

And I have 2x 25k of these pots:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The schematic calls for 50k pots.....what should I do? Would the 25k pots (one for each channel) work fine? Can I put it in series with 25k worth or resistors?

Thanks for any ideas you guys may have!

Also, how do I wire this pot?

Schematic calls for 50k pot as this what I had available. But 25K pot is even better (I hope it's log). In this case 22k shunt resistor, from + input to ground, is not needed.

Peter, I'd keep the 22k (or even 33k) res in case the pot starts behaving funny and you do't want the speakers to see DC spikes.

It looks like it would do temporarily !

Never mind what the circuit calls for, an amp of this quality deserves a quality volume control, either a stepped attenuator or a law faked cermet pot.
