Different type of rectification?

I'm wondering if anyone has tried a voltage doubling circuit like this before?
Any thoughts as to how good it would work?

Doublers and triplers work fine for low currents. Your whole power supply becomes dependant on the capacitors ability to store energy.

So maybe not so good for the 400Watt chain clone I’m planning?

I was thinking using 4 15V 8amp transformers I found, using 2 parallel for the neg rail and 2 for the pos rail.
Guess I’ll keep looking.
