Default input buffer PSU

HI Harry

Have a look at

200 watts Gäjnklon (Gainclone) - BPA200

again.

As you can see I used the LM78/79-15L for the input PSU. The have a max input at around 35 V (don't remeber the exat numeebr of my head), but so fare I have never killed one and have have been running them at up to 42 V.

Today I might go for the LM317L/LM337L. They can take the 42 V input without any problem. You could put a couple of small resistor in front o fthem just to play it safe.

Don't make it more complicated than you need to

Have fun

Thomas

Default Cap advice

I'm still deciding what components to use.
I'm paralleling NI gainclones with lm3886.
Thus I need the capacitor from - input to
ground. I assume this has to be a non-polarized
cap.

I'm considering a black gate 33 uF 16V type N.
At partsconnexion it's $4.40. Remeber I will need 12 of
these. Am I well of with this or should I go for a
film cap (Solen 20 uF or similar). Should I bypass this
with a foil cap?

Thanks

Harry
