So, elma then ?? Type 1 or 4 ? Type 4 is pretty pricey but seems a very nice switch.

I'm sure they're both good. I had a 24-position attenuator built with the 04 model. Very nice... But yeah. Pricy. I'm sure the 01 type is fine too. At least it comes with a real data sheet (and nice specs too).

I haven't had much problem with Lorlin switches myself but those are mechanically more solid in my experience : RS 263: Stufen-Drehschalter, 2x3 Pole, 3 Stellungen bei reichelt elektronik

Not sealed though.

edit: similar switches are sold by alpha on Mouser.
edit2: another option, quite common in the pro audio world, are the grayhill switches. Not cheap though.

Well, the Lorlin switches aren't really sealed. They are enclosed and that is about it. I work with the very old selector switches all the time that are open. No problem as the wiping action is effective with those, and then they are easily cleaned and lubricated.
