Here's an older one destined to be dismantled today and so I thought I'd post some pictures. LM3875, no hum, heats up like a cigar lighter, though, if the cover is shut .

Try to use a larger heatsink, my GC was also running hot when I used a small one like yours

could just punch a hole in the back and maybe below the heat sink. if done right you could use convection currents to increase cooling.

Hey, thanks for the responses!!! This amp was really just a way to use the cigar box. I never intended to run it for real - just have a little fun - the heatsink was one I had on my desk at the time I was drilling holes into the box.
