Ampliffier layout, Hum, EMI

This is my Barbaric amp amplifier. Thanks to the members of this site I have amplification that perfectly suits my needs and sounds better to me than anything that I have tried to use in my system. I know very little about this and am looking forward to learning. I currently have 60Hz hum in this system. It is similar to the sound of passive pickups in a guitar while idle. It is not extremely loud. At this point, I am so pleased with the sound of this setup that I'd rather this amp with the hum than any of my others but would like to learn about EMI and how to get around it and avoid it.

One of the main hum problems is caused by poor grounding.
There should be one star ground point where all the grounds meet.

One of the main culprits is the smoothing capacitors because they get very large surge currents as they charge up on each mains cycle.

twist all wires that have ac, that should eliminate your hum, another thing any wires that cross each other should be 90 degrees. Then once you get the top and sides on that should help especially if you have flouresent lighting.
