Hello,
I am powering a simple 2-way stereo system with a Sure 4x100W amplifier, seen here: 4x100W @ 4 Ohm TK2050 Class-T Digital Audio Amplifier Board 320-302 I am using an active crossover so that each individual channel on the amp is producing either a high range or low range signal on the left or right side. This means that two of the channels get the demands of a Bohlender Graebener Neo3-PDRW ribbon tweeter and the other two have the much heavier load of a Dayton Audio RS150-4 6" midbass. I was wondering if there was any opinion as to how I should split the load. Pair the tweeters and midbass cones together on each of the stereo chanels? Or would it be better to even up the electrical load on each of the stereo pairs by running, say, the left side woofer and tweeter together on a single stereo channel? And then doing the same on the right side drivers on the other stereo pair? Thanks Last edited by StrangeLiform; 21st January 2013 at 05:57 AM. |

I suspect it really won't make much difference in your case. I've always run "left" channels into the "left" amp, etc. That way I have a "midrange" amp, and a "tweeter" amp. It's always worked for me.
Unless you're always at the ragged edge of what your amps can handle, I don't imagine you'll hear any difference. |
