using piezo disks to create pickup system

Hi there,

I'm trying to figure out how I could ever wire several jacks in serie/parallel (no idea) together so I can have multiple input going through only one output.
The purpose is building a vibraphone pickup like this k&k sound system:

Vibraphone Amplification - K&K Sound

or this self-made system:

Homemade vibraphone pickups

I found this schematics on a forum but I'm not able to understand any single thing. How could I start from this drawing to finalize my mixer in the real world ?
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Does somebody out there know how to "link" those jacks ?
Thank you so much,

Benoit

Hi,

Many variants of the standard mixer circuit, you can keep adding
input channels to the virtual earth mixing point, pin 2 of ICa.

You might need to add active buffers on each input for high
input impedance to suit the piezo's, TL074 or similar.

1) forget about the mixer posted above, it has absolutely useless 10K input impedance.
And inadequate 4 channels only.

2) you will need a lot of individual Piezo Preamps, such as this:

which is good for 2 piezos, and then mix their outputs.

How many Piezos will you need?

Is it acceptable to have just a single "main" volume? (I guess so).
Because that will simplify design *a lot* .
Don't think you need individual note volume adjustment, do you?

Then I may suggest a general, *many* inputs mixer.

What will you drive with it?

I'm looking to do a similar thing. However, my instrument is only one octave (basically just a less shrill glockenspiel). I don't know anything about all this technical stuff, but i'd love to learn for this project.
I think what im looking for is to wire 12 piezos together (one under each bar) and then output them all as one channel. I want to do it as cheaply as possible as well. Suggestions?
Thanks!
