Substituting into (17) the approximation for ESR (for electrolytic capacitors, only), which is 0.02 / (C x VR), where VR = Voltage Rating of capacitor), and solving for C:

(18): C ≥ Δi ((0.04πf/VR) + 1) / (2πf∙Δv) [approximate, for electrolytic cap, only]

What capacitance would allow the voltage rail to drop by one Volt, if the capacitance supplied all of the current for the first one-quarter cycle if a 15 Hz bass tone with a peak amplitude of 10 Amps.

Plugging the values into equation (18) gives C = 108105.5 uF

If anyone was following the capacitor calculations I decided to take them to the "power supply reservoir size" thread, where they might be more appropriate.
