Hi all:
I'm attempting my first DIY build with a LM3886 stereo kit from chipamp.com and a Pass B1 buffer. If I put them all in the same chassis, are there any problems with powering the B1 from the chipamp.com snubber board? I think the B1 draws on the order of 10's of milliamps which seems modest.
Thanks,
John

Probably.
Personally, can't see the need to add a unity gain buffer between a 25K volume pot and a 100K chip amp input ... unless they are 1/4 mile away, of course (which does not seem to be the case) .
Hmmmm . . . just assumed that an amp required a pre-amp. Noob mistake?
Depends on what you are looking for. If you want to have a source selector, volume control, and couple of meters of interconnects, then yes, you need a preamp. But a B1 in the same box with a chipamp, which would literally be a unity gain buffer between a volume pot and a 100k (or so) input of a chipamp, makes little sense.
