Hi everyone !
I would like to introduce my latest build. It's Stereo amplifier based on TDA7293 in modular application (2 chips in parallel per channel). Each channel has its own 200VA toroid and separate rectifier board. Actually, I would install a single high power transformer, but I had those two transformers from a previous project and 200VA seemed too small for an amplifier that can put out 160W@4ohm, so I put 2 of them. In the end it turned out kind of like a dual mono. In the picture different electrolytic capacitors can be seen in each channel's PSU, those were what I had at home and will be replaced soon. Before the transformers there is soft start circuit (the board sold by the diyaudio store). Actually I already drawed my softstart board in Altium designer and planned to etch it when I stumbled upon these beautiful kits which in turn ended up cheaper that what they would cost me if I build them myself, and are looking much better ![]() Amplifier boards have a gain of little over 28dB and are basically the same as in the datasheet except for the component values (smaller gain by changed resistor values, reduced low frequency rolloff, and increased bootstrap capacity for better LF performance). At the input of the amplifier is an input selector which switches channels by the use of relays controlled by the front panel knob. Signal then goes to Pass B1 buffer which feeds the volume control potentiometer. Output of the potentiometer is then connected to the amp boards. On the output of the amp I put DC speaker protector bought from the diyaudio store. That's it ! A lot of clean power to feed the speakers ![]() Amp front.jpg Amp guts.jpg Amp back.jpg |
