Normally I use socket for NE5532. If I want to scrap board I still use NE5532 for another upgraded board. Some chips are very expensive here like LM3886, LM4780, LM4766 etc., For Example, If I build LM4780 with preamp & crossover and I want to upgrade for any reason. I can scrap complete board. However, I can re-use capacitor (expensive component which is easy to de-solder) It does not mean LM4780 can not desolder, but it is complicated for me. LM4780 has thin pins and fear to break/bend the pins and damage the pads. Further cheap component including resistor can be scraped.

As I can easily remove NE5532 for re-use. Anybody use LM4780 with socket for re-use.
