Right up front I apologize for my lack of knowledge. I have a couple Brian GT 3886 kits I build a long time ago and never used. I was considering putting them in a boat I have and was curious since there are two batteries I could get 24v DC to them and my question is could I not just eliminate the power supplies and use them at 24v DC?

There are several options.
1) You have to reconfigure the amp for single supply operation. You will have to modify the PCB and add a few components externally to create the virtual ground. 2) Leave everything as it is, and buy a sine wave power inverter that steps up the DC battery voltage to AC at mains voltage. 3) Build or buy DC to DC converters with the right output voltage.

use moooar battery, when the amp is on connected in series, when its of, connected to meet the generator specs. (even small battery will do fine, depending on how loud and how long you want it to be on).
simple relay logic can deal with connecting them. |
