where to find a pot
can't find a pot.
i need a 4x100K lin pot. does enyboby know any for sale?

Check the familygate shop on ebay. They sell Alps pots in many varieties. For audio purposes log pots are the usual choice, but that shop may be able to provide what you need.
The alternative is to buy several stereo pots. Most are made by stacking several mono pots onto each other, so you can do the same. You will probably need three stereo pots, and stack two of them onto each other with the connecting pieces gotten out of the third.

All the pots that I have looked at can't be separated as you suggest.
You might have to resort to gears or use switches as switched attenuators. |

You could try these guys.
