Bouncing Needle Meter

I had a great idea for a "Bouncing Needle" Meter.
It really would be no more than a amp meter with a 10A scale.
The face on the meter would have a 4Ω & 8Ω "Watt" scale that would correspond to the speaker load.
Depending on the load you could would read the different scales.
I think this would be a very clever and not too expensive analog meter that would look nice.

Everything old is new again.

You have to use a volt meter, because an ampere meter will add unwanted resistance to the signal path. Look for used amps from the late 70s and early 80s. Such meters were the hype back then.

That being said, I have always loved old VU meters.
I actually think my dad has some old equipment he may be willing to part with.
All of his old stuff is from the 80's.
