I digged out my TA2020 eval board, changed the input caps, run on a Yasua 12V accu (didn't have any PSU available), and surprise: as good as LM3886, if not better. Power is fairly weak though...

Next time, I'll try the Hypex Ncore NC400, when they are available again...
It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt...
