Talking PGA2311 daisy-chaining

Hello experts,
I am currently designing a multichannel preamp based on 3 Burr-Brown PGA2311.
The datasheet, however, is not clear about the modalities of daisy-chaining.
Can you control the volume separately for each one or just all together in this setup?
Thanks
Patrik

If they are daisy chained, in series, as shown in the datasheet, each 2311 can be set to any volume level. You will have to send 3 words (16 bits) of data to set the level of all (3) the PGA2311s. See Figure 4 on the datasheet and the associated verbiage. The interface behaves like one long 48 bit shift register.
