Default Noise when signal is turned off

Hi all

First of all, I am quite new to diy builds, so I started with a diy kit from chipamp.com.
2 x Dual mono (LM3886) for driving my System Audio Ranger Master speakers in bi-amp.
The amps sound great, and I am very pleased with the result.

My problem is, that I hear a small scratch whenever i skip or pause a track. I have tried with several sources, and the noise occurres whenever the signal is cut.

Do you have any suggestions?

I have tried to search the forum, and haven't been able to find a thread solving my problem. Please direct me to a thread if you have better search words than me.

Best regards

The Source is probably sending a pulse when the Play and Mute conditions are swapped.

Thanks for the reply.

I have had a Rotel amplifier connected previously, and that did not make the noise. So I don't think the source is at fault.

I don't think the chipamp pcb has DC blocking on the input, your old Rotel will have.

Add a NP capacitor in the RCA inputs like 3.9uf or 4.7uf and listen if the noise goes away.
