200W from a cipamp? I need to see this.
For 200W on 8Ω you need 40V RMS or 56V peak (112Vp-p) at the load connections. If you consider ±3V lose on output transistors then you need to power the amplifier with ±59V stabilised or 118-120V total voltage stabilised. Except some STK cips which can survive at this voltage (but do not have current capability for 200W) I do not know any power cipamp. Unfortunately too many people do not know how to calculate the output power of an amplifier. I supose that you do not really need 200W. If you really need 200W (peak or RMS?) then you must think to discrete or hibrid (based on LME498xx IC) power amplifier. With LM3886 you need bridge connection of minimum 4 parallel IC's on each side (8IC's). With 2xTDA7293 in parallel and powered in G class I manage to obtine 80W on 8Ω at ±20V low rail and + ±40V high rail. At maximum of the IC voltage (±50V) I will have maibe ~100W-110W/8Ω. My amplifier: 7293 parrallel or bridge/paralel for best sound? I listen some good vintage amplifier of only 30-40W and sound unbelievable. Only for listen at your home you do not need soo much power, maybe 100W is more than enough. For any other use you need discrete amplifier. |

There is no ic power amp that will give u 200 Watts.

AND you will have 2000W on 0.5Ω ha ha ha
How they calculate this power I can not understand. 555W on 0.5Ω? At ±45V on 4Ω the power is close to 200W. Anyway the slew-rate will decrease from 5-10V/µsec for a single IC to under 2-3V/µsec for 7 parallel IC. The speed is too low for a good amplifier. From my point of view 3-4 parallel IC are the maximum. Over this no. the slew-rate will decrease too much to be useful. Try to settle for an integrated amplifier of 1-3 IC's or pass on discrete design. |
