Hi people!
Im very new to audio electronics so please bear with me. Anyway Im trying to fix up some channel strips from a HArrison 24 console. They have been re-chipped + re capped however Im very keen on making sure they sound close to theyre original sound.. maybe with less noise if possible. Anyway Ive looked at a few of the chips in it and was wondering what people thought on whats in there already, ive done some basic reading around on the stock chips and have heard mixed things but here goes..: It looks like there is a MA 332 in the mic preamp, the originals used HA911/3500. Does anyone think thats a good replacement? Then in the EQ Im pretty sure it used HA4605 quad op amps, but now has BB OPA4277's .. Lastly I think this may be an output stage but up near the output transformer there is an LE 2084CN + a single BB OPA227 .. I think that single was an NE 5534 which Ive read about.. If anyone can shed some light on what these can/do I would appreciate any thoughts at all. I appreciate sound quality and performance is probably more dependant on other things too not just them, but still it would give me a start on where to go.. In a nutshell Im after the original/stock kind of sound, Ive already got really nice discreet + quiet gear n want something with a little attitude yet smooth response Thanks very much!! Dave |
