Default LM3886 cap

Hi guys,

i have made an amplifier based on the LM3886. the design is per the datasheet of the said chip.

The dual power supply which I am using have got two large filter caps (6700uf each). I would like to know if I need to put any other big filter caps as near as to the chip itself plz?

Thanks for any input

Put 470uF to 1000uF caps close to the chip and 100nF to 1uF directly on (below) the chip.
One of each for V+, one of each for V-.

Do not use the basic circuit in the datasheet, the DC blocking cap on the signal input should not be 'optional'.

National tells you what Cs is. Where to locate them. Read the datasheet thoroughly.

Have you chosen to add any of the components that National refer to as "optional"?
They are not optional to any less experienced builders. Experienced designers can choose to use, or not use some, or all of the optional components. Builders and beginners must use all the optional components.

For RF a very small (surface mount) ceramic (X7R) 100nf or smaller as close to the pins as possible with minimal parasitic inductance.

I do not locate RF attenuation at the -PIN.
I prefer it at the input to the PCB connecting Signal Hot to Signal Return.
