Default Comercial amps that use "chips"?

Hi there. Maybe this has been discussed before. However is there a listing of comercial amps that use chip transistors? (lm3886 etc. ) I know Rowland, 47 labs, have used.

Both 2 channel and multi channel amps.

Sincerely

That would be one long list.

Probably all televisions, probably all radio tuners, probably all lower power car audio systems, probably all lofi and midfi music systems, probably all active computer speakers, probably most active speakers. As he said, a very long list.

Some affordable Subwoofers use Chip amp's too. I suspect you would find them in some AV amp's.

Linkwitz Pluto uses LM3886 chip amp's and sounds superb by any standards.

I'm fairly confident that the vast majority of audio amplifiers introduced in the last 30 years use chip amp outputs. It would be easier to list the ones that don't.

So how many of them are using the actual LM3886? I wondered this myself.

I don't think my TV sounds that good, lol

Hhhhmmmm--could that be, because you are watching Canadian broadcast networks?

The vast majority of Amp's are not specialist audiophile Hi-Fi Seperate Amp's.

Globug,
Assuming you have a flat screen your TV probably does not sound so hot because it probably uses 2-5 watt chip amp's and 10 pence (UK pound) 1-2 inch "fullrange" drive units squeezed into an electronically noisy space that is so small that two gnats would not have enough room to get jiggy with each other.
