Default College Project Information Needed

For my college project i have decided to build a portable docking station for my ipod/iphone.

Recently bought a shell of a hitchai trk 8080e boombox, i am going to build an amp for the ipod/iphone

I have absolutely not one clue what amplifier chip i need and it would be a great help if someone could guide me in the direction of what i need to do.

what i know, it has a 15v input and has space for tweeters so i would like to incorporate that into my design.

Thankyou for your time
