I was curious to see if anyone could recommend, or knows of a direct replacement for a TL084CN 14-DIP op amp? I was looking to replace the TL084CN in a microphone preamp and looking to get an updated, better sounding Op amp.
I have been looking at TLE2074, LME49740, and AD713. The feedback that I have received indicates that the TLE2074 is noisy and that the LME49740 would require modifying the preamp...
I have ben attempting to aquire a shcematic but the company keeps putting me off...
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Thom

It will be an improvement over the TLO84, and should work well as a drop in replacement that won't require any circuit mods. I've used it in the past and it sounded fine. I no longer use it in my own creations however, there are more up to date chips with better specs.
