ChipAmp PSU Question
1 Attachment(s)
I've finished building a LM1875 kit from BrianGT, works fine !
I've got a spare PSU board designed for LM3886, BrianGT design too.
Wondering if I could use this one for my LM1875 amps ?

My trouble is that there are +V/+PGND and -V/-PGND pins on the DC side.
PSU is tested and OK, about + & -26V DC with 2x18AC/160VA rated trafo.
Could I wire together -PGND and -PGND safely ?
IMHO yes, but your confirmation is awaited ;)

Thank you for your answer :)
I'll give it a try before powering the LM1875.

Replaced the standard LM1875 ChipAmp PSU with the one designed for LM3886.
Works perfectly fine, seems to me that bass are more defined and deepest...
More listening is required before tweaking.
Thanks again for your input palstanturhin ;)

PS : BTW I've got a fully functional & tested LM1875 PSU for sale...

While assembling the ChipAmp LM3886 kit, I've read the answer to my question in the Manual...

Yep that's right, tested and approved :)
I've got a "plop" while powering off the amp...
Do you have a tip to solve it ?

kuldeepsingh 10th August 2011 05:54 PM

plop is there in my system due to connection with PC and DTH reciever when i together switch off the amplifier and reciever. with ipod, there is no plop.

I've tried with or without USB/DAC connected, actually my main and only source.
As you mentionned, the DAC is connected to a PC, battery powered.
Same result, in both cases, when powering off... plop :(
