Default Transformer

Hello,

Newbie asking about some parts im my basment stock. I want to build a GC with a lm3875. The question is about power.

Amveco torroid transformers. 2 primarys at 117 and 2 secondaries at 55v with a whopping 990 VA rating at the secondaries. part # AA 59902-055.

These were free so it would be great to use them.

With line voltage varying from 108-132 that puts my rails from +/- 35 - 43 v.

This is a little scary on the top end for the 3875???

Are there any good regulator circuits that won't affect sound quality?

Thanks,

David

David, this question has been answered many times on this and other forums! May I respectfully suggest doing a search.

You can also get a lot of information off my
GC FAQ page.

Nuuk is right. There are currently several active threads that are addressing this very issue. Post there or email with a few more details about those transformers. I may have a good swap for you
