I have this TDA1554Q based amp out of my Cambridge Soundworks multi-media system I liked it because it ran on 12VDC or 120VAC it sounded nice till it blew & the sound was really distorted at almost any volume......the question is what to do? I like the enclosure with 4" sub and remote satellites is there a solder in chip with the same schematic? better quality or is there a better route to take?

Can you get a replacement chip?
That would be your easiest route. Then you can do the usual mods on a amp like this, better caps, etc. |
