Default low voltage power amp?

not sure if a chip amp falls in the category?
What would be the best project 2channel amp that consumes the least power.
I want something that sounds really good. It will be installed in my sailboat.

speaker efficiency is the larger variable, and listening area distance/room size - easily >100x differences in power required at the speaker terminals for different loudspeaker designs, application assumptions/requirements - so amplifier electronics efficiency is literally a second order effect

Yes! In an enviornment where you may have a high ambient noise level, and power is not so abundant, go for speakers that are pointing right at you. Make physics work for you.

Yes sailboats can be tuff. Bin thare done that. Try to keep the speakers above the water line, from the ceiling in the cabin. Outside thare are not to many options for touring anyway. Andy
