Problems with Marantz PM630

Hy.I have a big problem with my Marantz PM630 receiver.When I put the sound signal to MAIN IN (the receiver has MAIN IN and PRE OUT) it sounds great,but at a very low volume and I have no control on it.If I put the signal to CD Input I only hear some kind of "bruum" and no music.
Do you have any ideea of what can I do?I checked all the tranzistors (NPN and PNP) and they are all in good shape.Is there an IC that must be changed?

You need to bridge Pre-out to Main in, and then use the normal CD and tuner inputs.
See MarantzPM630
You could just use some RCA cables instead of links.

The main in and pre out were briged all the time. R808 keeps making a lot of smoke when I put the CD input.Another solution?I don't understand why I it keeps doing that!
