I've got a Lepai LP808 and want to use it with an
stabilized but unregulated 12V power supply (Uo ca. 18V). This works if the LP808 has got the LA4636-IC as published from Lepai. But the IC in the LP808 has got 14 pins and is not pin compatible with the 12pin LA4636 described in it's datasheet from Sanyo. Did anyone detached the amplifier-IC from the pcb and knows the printing on it? Regards, |

It's of course neccesary to exchange the 16V-caps with 25V-caps
when using the LP808 with an unregulated 12V supply. By the way, I also install a 10uH 3.5A inductance (12mm diameter) for the supplied power, that is already predefined on the pcb. |

Guess, it uses the LA4636 (because offset).
Imho the nicest Lepai miniamp, I also like the superbass and the two overload leds.

The older LP808 had the slightly more powerful version of the LA-chip (13,5W instead 11W) but with higher standby current (140mA, the newer version consumes just half). Both versions have high output offset voltage (300mV).
