Default To LM3886 or not to LM3886?

Basically I need a 4 channel amp and the LM3886 way would be real easy because nearly all the parts except the chips themselves kicking around. My other option would be SS which would be much more expensive and take a lot longer to make and I don't have any PCB making equipment yet. I want SS for more power though.

Boscoe.

Go to National and ask if you can get 5samples for which you will need to pay.
This guarantees genuine National product.

You could consider hardwiring for the first one. A few threads about. But copying that three more times might be more than you want.

National will supply paid for samples of lme 498xx front end chips. These are the next easiest step of simple construction with a discrete output stage. There's lots of threads.

Farnell is one of their distributors why not just get them from there? Fair enough they are a little more expensive but the shipping will be a lot quicker.

it was awhile ago and prices will have changed, but the last time I bought samples through National, it was more expensive than buying them in the UK.
"Genuine" was of more importance.
