Default Brian GT PSU board with Center Taped Transformer

Hello,

I have bought the LM3886 gainclone kit from ChipAmp.com

the PSU board look like this :
Click the image to open in full size.

the problem is that my transformer is center taped (3 wires) instead of 4 wires.

Is there a way to use this transformer with that PSU board ? and how ?

If not, there's some PSU boards on Ebay like this one Amplifier Power Supply Assembled Kit for DIY NEW en vente sur eBay.fr (fin le 08-janv.-11 10:26:00 Paris) that could be suitable ?

Regards

I bought the same brian-gt boards. I just used dual secondary trafos for that one.

the peter daniels kit does seem to 'support' CT style trafos. he documents where to make changes (4 diodes instead of 8, etc) on his website.

btw, that diagram you show is wrong, isn't it? the 2nd bridge is backwards, it seems. wonder why no one ever fixed that (?)

If I disregards the CT I will get 48V instead of 24V at the ACs?

no, that's not optimal. that often (according to reports) creates hum and loops.

The layout and traces, although may look different, are basically the same, so the mod will work with his boards as well.

his current boards include room for both the diodes and filter caps. if the filter caps part assumes dual secondaries, I wonder if it really will be straightforward..

I have both of your kits but have not looked at it in detail on brian's since it did not look obvious at first glance. I am curious, though. searches did not turn up any specific howto on the brian boards like it does on yours.
