hi all,

I was suggested to check on chip amps so here I am.
I'm looking for an amp that will be able to drive my Sonus Faber - concerto home in a medium sized room.
Currently, I'm using valve amp - WAD kit6550 40Wpp but it's getting too hot for some days at the summer here ...

Chip Amp is my solution ?

thanks,

Yuval

Well, there is no guarantee that a chip amp will work with your Sonus Faber Concertos but no real reason why they shouldn't.

What sort of sensitivity are the Concertos?

I was joking with somebody only today, that a Gainclone is a better option than a valve amp in this hot weather. ;)

If you are new to chip amps, then you will probably be best to stick with the minimised inverted design using the LM3875. Why? Because that's what most people choose to build and there is a lot of advice for that version.

If you want to get off to a good start, try THIS
