How important is the leakage current in choosing capacitors for psu smoothing. I have been looking at some capacitors that have very very high ripple current in very small size but the leakage current looks high compared to other capacitors. Evox/rifa peg225 series. axial

While leakage is an unwanted side effect, its influence can be neglected. It only means the capacitors discharge a bit faster. Even compared to an amplifier's quiescent current the leakage current is small enough to forget about it.
