Hi guys,
I am not sure if this is the correct forum section for this question. I am not sure if this is the right forum, period for my question. If there is somewhere more appropriate please refer me. I have an M-Audio LX4 5.1 setup on my computer. I have periodic crackling/popping/bursts of static from the front right speaker. I have changed speakers and the inputs from the computer and the problem remains with the front right channel. I am pretty confident the problem lies with the built in amp in the sub. Could this be a bad capacitor or op amp? What should be my process for narrowing down the bad component and replacing it? A schematic for the amp would be helpful if someone knows where to get that. Anyone else have this issue with this setup? |

Probably poor soldering somewhere. Yes it can have something to do with an opamp - a bad joint in the feedback path can sound really ugly.
