Ok, NOW I'm gonna cry.
Excellent, as always, Peter!
By the way, Rubycon caps this time?
Hey Nuuk, excellent idea, I'm going to gather some pictures and discriptions and format them to your needs (500 pixels), then I'll send you a mail.

Standing by Carlos Just don't get tears over those photos before you scan them in

The images are the ones I already have on CD, and were scanned directly from the negatives on the lab where I process my films.
I need a cheap digital camera...

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Five pieces of wood are placed on the top of the speaker body as shown. The 'hole' is filled with a layer of thin MDF/plywood. The veneeer goes on top of that. The wood is then routed to give it a round edge and then the top is sanded level.
OK so far, but how did you round the vertical edges?

Of course
But how do they "join" the top of the cabinet? how do they join the horizontal rounded edged that are on the top

The top of the cabinet is flat.
The flat pieces of solid wood are mitred then stuck in place with glue. The middle section is brought up to the same level as the solid wood (with ply/veneer) then the top is sanded flat and the solid wood outer sides are sanded so that the 'points' are rounded. Then the curve on the top is routed.
Deam!
I didn't!

Never mind - it's warm enough to sleep out at this time of year
Let me tell you that your site is becoming a serious tool for the DIYer.
Thanks Carlos. I hope that one day it will be a one-stop for anything to do with DIY hi-fi. It's quite newbie orientated at present and I want to be careful that in moving to more advanced stuff, I don't lose that 'easy-to-follow' style.
Interesting find for cabinets
For those of us looking for cheap & easy cabinets for these projects, I was looking around a store called "The Christmas Tree Shop". They have several very nice little wooden boxes, one of which is a cutting board with a tray in it-would be very easy to modify into a nice case. They also had a package of very nice looking cedar wood drawer liners that is tongue and groove.
