Hi,
I am from Bangalore India and want to make a low cost high fidelity power Amp for my 2 speakers( 18 inch sub, 2 X 5 inch squakers, 2 X dome tweeters, 18 dB passive 3 way crossovers) as my friend who borrowed my onkyo amp(100Watt MOSFET) blew it after connecting to his speakers and I dont have the money to buy another branded amp. This amp is very old and probably cannot be repaired(I checked) I was reading through these forums and I find the TDA 7293 based amps have a good feedback. Kindly someone help tell me if I can find PCB, components etc in SP Road for making an amp powerful enough to drive my monster speakers. What do you recommend? I am looking for kits like the VegaKIT or Elektor kits but nowadays its next to impossible to find such kits and literally no one sells them. Thanks in advance Sanjay |

what parts of the damaged amplifier can be re-used?
eg, heatsink, chassis, terminals and similar hardware. Transformer, smoothing capacitors, rectifier. Is there anything else in there that is undamaged? Give us a list of re-usable parts and tell us what the transformer is able to do, Volts, Amps, etc.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your reply. I was unfortunately very angry withy my friend for blowing up my AMP and I left it at his place itself. I am not on talking terms with him anymore. Hence, none of the items can be salvaged. Having gotten used to the awesome quality of sound from the AMP that I just lost, I want to make something similar. I live in Bangalore as mentioned before and used to make a lot of DIY projects in my college days. Nowadays SP Road in Bangalore, where I used to spend most of my time is now a place where we can only buy computers and computer spares and very few electronic component and hobbyist shops remain and dont stock on these fantastic VEGAKIT and ELEKTOR kits that we used to purchase back in the good old days. Hence I posted a query on this forum to find out if there are still some guys who make these DIY circuits and could help me or guide me to make my AMP. Thanks and Regards Sanjay |
