I have a pair of M-audio Studiopro 4 active monitors that ive been using as computer speakers for a few years now and they sound great but a few weeks ago they suddenly died on me. Its possible that the outputs were shorted when I moved the speakers for cleaning but im not sure. I thought it might have just blown a fuse and it did but when i replaced to fuses they blew right away when i turned them ion and all i get from them now is what sounds like a steady 60hz tone. I took a look around inside and there is nothing obviously wrong, nothing is burnt or loose or anything like that. There is a lot going on the little circuit board inside. There is a basic power supply of around +_20v, a preamp section using a pair of 5332 opamps, the amplifier which is a pair of TDA2030a chips, and finally there is a crossover. Does anyone by chance have a service manual for these monitors? Any ideas what the problem could be? Im guessing its the TDA2030's any other ideas?
thanks |

hello.
yes,if there is a big humm at the output,no music and the fuses blow......that is probably the tda 2030. perhaps you can desolder one of the tda's and try again if the fuses blow.......if they do desolder the other tda. greets |
