Hi All, I orginally posted this in the AmpChipDIY forum but no one seems to be going to the new AmpChipDIY forum...
This question is for Thorst ... er, I mean Kuei or anyone else who would like to chime in. I like the dual transformer per channel concept and would like to give it a try. I would also like to experiment with bi amping. Right now I only have enough $$$ for four transformers. So the question is: can I use a dual primary, dual 48 V secondary transformer in 230 V mode (instead of 115 V mode, I'm in Canada) to get a dual 24 V output? Would this provide any advantages/disadvantages (flux, wire guage, inductance, etc...)? This way I could use the 4 transformers for 2 channels of dual-trans-per-channel gainclone and also use them for 4 channels of single-trans-per-channel gainclone (for biamping). I could kill four birds with one stone! Thanks for your help, Jeff |

It shouldn't be a problem to use your transformer in that way (I do it with my Aleph X), but be aware that the power raiting of the tansformer gets lower somewhat.

one or two transformers who cares, as long as it can get the job done, should be no problem.....
