Hi Mike, no need to apologise I thought that the second part of that sentance did quailfy the first part! ie if you want minimum DC offset then use a resistor the same value as Rf.

I agree, if you want better sound quailty (and I don't accept the straight wire gives that in my experience) then a straight wire should be used.

But I was just clearing up a misunderstanding about which resistor should equal Rf and didn't want to confuse the issue or the person asking the question.
